I was browsing the internet and ran across these free hang tags and wanted to share :)  If you're a primitive crafter, you know what a time saver this can be.

Cheap Halloween battery operated candles

When I was making my Halloween crafts, I was looking for the perfect candle to sit on the top of a Dracula book I found at Goodwill. I couldn't find anything even close to what I was looking for so I started searching google and Pinterest and came up with an extremely cheap and foolproof way of making my own.

Here's what you need:

Battery operated tealight candle (pretty cheap at walmart and you can also find at dollar tree now)
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Toilet paper cardboard tube

Take the toilet paper tube and cut it in half on a diagonal. Put the tealight in the tube and place on the back of a greased cookie sheet and use hot glue to glue in the tealight in place. Then just start at the bottom of the tube and put hot glue on the tube and let it come down and "blob" off the side of the tube. It will set up in a minute or so. Then you just move up and keep putting glue around the tube until you get the look you are wanting. After the first one it was really easy to get the hang of it and I made 24 of them in no time.

I then painted the candle with watered down black paint. Equal parts paint to water. Without the water, the glue will show brush marks and it's hard to get in all of the nooks and crannies. I used 2 coats and it was completely covered.

Really inexpensive and a great décor piece around Halloween!

On Sunday, I finally broke down and cleaned my craft room. When I was putting all of my fabric away, I ran across a tote full of burlap coffee sacks that I had no idea what I was going to do with them. I started looking on Pinterest and google and found a lot of cute totes made with the sacks. I wanted to make more of a "bucket" that would stay open with handles on the side than an actual bag that you would carry around. Burlap material is not the friendliest of materials and I don't think it would make a great purse, etc. While I was searching I ran across this page that offers tons and tons of free bag patterns... http://www.sewingsupport.com/sewing-how-to/free-patterns-and-projects/bags/tote-bags.html

Anyhow, after searching and sortof knowing what I was doing with the sacks, I ended up making this hanging laundry bag for my bathroom. It is lined on the inside with muslin and I don't think I will ever actually use it but it will be cute hanging there with all of my old bottles etc. :)

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone is having a great week so far.

I wanted to start a blog because I have tons and tons of patterns, tips, tricks, free stuff, etc. that I want to share with everyone. I love being able to share things and I love learning from other people. I'm an overflowing source of information... sometimes useless but interesting none the less lol. I also think a blog is a better way of communicating then sending messages and waiting for responses :)

I also wanted to introduce myself and my family :) If you click the about me link to the right, you will be able to see pics of my family.

I'm excited about the new endeavor and look forward to sharing tons of things with all of you :)
